Internal Audit and Compliance

$800 million Private Franchising Company

AFS was engaged to assist an $800 million international cleaning service franchisor as they prepared for their annual audit. This client faced numerous challenges having grown through a series of acquisitions as well as relocating its corporate headquarters. During this transition, accounting records were lost and a number of key accounting and finance personnel did not transfer to the new location. Due to disjointed systems, poor accounting records and a lack of internal controls, the audit process was inefficient.

After meeting the initial reporting goal, AFS was engaged to develop standardized policies and procedures, implement internal controls and assess systems related issues. Through internal audits of account specific data, AFS developed methodologies to help the client better manage data related to high risk accounts. The information gained through franchise specific procedures helped identify operational issues related to different franchisees and regions. These discoveries helped AFS formulate a strategy which enabled the client to better manage operations. As a result of this work, the client continues to grow and achieve financial success today.
